Description

JNK Inhibitor V is a potent and cell permeable ATP competitive JNK inhibitor (hJNK1: IC₅₀ = 150nM, hJNK2: IC₅₀ = 220nM and hJNK3: IC₅₀ = 70 nM). Experiments have reported JNK signaling pathway to play a role in ischemia-induced cell death in hippocampal CA1 neurons in a gerbil model. Therefore, preventing the activation of JNK has the potential of being neuroprotective. Additionally, in murine studies, the compound has been observed to reduce infarct size caused by myocardial ischemia. JNK Inhibitor V has also been noted to display anti-inflammatory capacities.
