PGJ2 (Prostaglandin J2) is biosynthesized via nonenzymatic dehydration of PGD2, a process which is accelerated by the presence of albumin. PGJ2 has been show to inhibit platelet aggregation (IC50 ~ 5-10 nM), aortic smooth muscle cell proliferation, and phosphoinositide turnover. Has also been shown to exhibit potent anti-neoplastic and antiviral activity. Much of the activity associated with PGJ2 has been attributed to downstream metabolites such as 15-Deoxy-δ12,14-Prostaglandin J2. PGJ2 (Prostaglandin J2) is an inhibitor of PPARα and PPARγ .
Soluble in ethanol (100 mg/ml), DMSO (100 mg/ml), and acetone.
