Description

21(S)-Hydroxy Montelukast is an oxidative metabolite of the leukotriene LTD4 receptor antagonist Montelukast. This metabolite is hydroxylated at the benzylic 21-position of Monetlukast. Synthesis of 21(S)-Hydroxy Montelukast and the other oxidative metabolites of Montelukast has been reported. The diastereomer 21(R)-Hydroxy Montelukast was synthesized and described in the same report as this compound.
