Description
UDP-N-acetyl-D-galactosamine disodium salt is a donor substrate for N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferases. The compound is a major terminal sugar of the cyst wall of Giardia lamblia. UDP-N-acetyl-D-galactosamine is useful in the synthesis of aryl azide derivatives that can be employed in affinity labeling of glycosyltransferases and UDP-HexNAc pyrophosphorylase.
