Description

Tungsten hexacarbonyl is a colorless compound, and like its chromium and molybdenum analogs, it is noted as a volatile, air-stable derivative of tungsten in its zero oxidation state. A precursor to a Fischer carbene complex which reduces Pd(II) to a nanoparticulate Pd(0) that is catalytically active in Hiyama cross-coupling.(1)
