Description

Ratjadone A is a cell-permeable polyketide. It was initially identified as a metabolite from the myxobacterium Sorangium cellulosum for its antibiotic activities against yeasts and filamentous fungi. Research show shows that ratjadones covalently bind to CRM1 (chromosome maintanence region protein) and inhibit the nuclear export of LR-NES (leucine rich-nuclear export signal)-containing proteins. It has the ability to Inhibits cell proliferation (IC₅₀ ≤ 1 ng/ml) and induce cell cycle arrest at G₁ phase. Ratjadone A, Synthetic is an inhibitor of HDAC.
