Perrhenic acid solution, also called rhenium(VII) oxide, is a stable aquo-metal complex used in the synthesis of superconducting synthetic metals. Perrhenic acid solution is also a catalyst for double bond hydrogenation, alcohol dehydrogenation, ammonia decomposition, and is a key hydrogenation and hydrocracking catalyst in petroleum processing.
