Description

Okadaic Acid (sodium salt) is a complex polyether dinoflagellate toxin and a specific inhibitor of protein phosphatases 1A (PP1) and protein phosphatases 2A and 2B (PP2). As the reversible phosphorylation of proteins is crucial to cellular regulation, okadaic acid is a valuable cell-permeable probe for assessing the importance of PP1A and PP2A/2B activity in cell behavior. Okadaic acid has been shown to promote tumor growth.
