1-O-Hexadecyl-2-O-acetyl-sn-glycerol inhibits protein kinase C activation by diacylglycerols1. 1-O-Hexadecyl-2-O-acetyl-sn-glycerol also stimulates HL-60 cell differentiation2. 1-O-Hexadecyl-2-O-acetyl-sn-glycerol is a biosynthetic precursor of PAF via remodeling and retroconversion/de novo routes3. Induces delayed aggregation of rabbit platelets4. Mitogenic for smooth muscle cells5. An inhibitor of PKC.
