Description

Harmane is a putative endogenous imidazoline ligand for imidazoline binding sites. Harmane binds to I1-sites in rat kidney with an IC50 of 31 nM, and I2-sites with a Ki of 49 nM. Harmane is also a potent inhibitor of monoamine oxidases A and B (IC50 values are 0.5 and 5 μM respectively).
