Description

Fumonisin B2 is a structural analog of Fumonisin B1(sc-201395). Fumonisin B2 is more cytotoxic than Fumonisin B1 and inhibits LASS (sphingosine acyltransferase). Fumonisin B2 and other fumonisins frequently contaminate maize and other crops. A fungal metabolite produced by Fusarium moniliforme. It inhibits sphingolipid biosynthesis via inhibition of LASS (sphinganine N-acyltransferase). IC50=0.1 μM in rat liver microsomes.
