Description

2,3-dinor-8-iso Prostaglandin F2α is an F2 isoprostane metabolite, that has been shown to be produced in vivo by free radical-dependent peroxidation of Arachidonic Acid. It has been observed that the concentration of 2,3-dinor-8-iso Prostaglandin F2α increases in situations of oxidative stress. This non-enzymatic production of prostaglandins is thought to limit the efficacy of COX-2 inhibitors, and could potentially be used as a measurement of oxidative stress.
