Description

Ciprostene (calcium salt) is the 9β-methyl analog of carbaprostacyclin and a stable analog of PGI2. It exhibits similar biological activity, however, it is 30-fold less potent than PGI2. Ciprostene has been shown to induce hypotension and cause tachycardia in primate models. Additionally, ciprostene inhibits ADP-induced platelet aggregation in vitro (ID₅₀ = 60 ng/ml).
