Description

purity > 99% (HPLC), isotopic purity: 99% Vitamin D refers to a group of fat-soluble secosteroids that play a pivotal role in increasing intestinal absorption and homeostasis of calcium, magnesium, phosphate and zinc thereby influencing bone and skeletal metabolism along with multiple other biological effects. In humans, the most important compounds in this group are mammalian-derived vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) and plant-derived vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol). A growing body of research suggests that vitamin D might play roles in the modulation of cell growth, neuromuscular and immune function and reduction of inflammation. The United States National Institutes of Health (NIH) established a Vitamin D Initiative in 2014 to track current research. In a 2016 review, NIH recognized that a growing body of research suggests that vitamin D might play some role in the prevention and treatment of types 1 and 2 diabetes, glucose intolerance, hypertension, multiple sclerosis and other medical conditions.
