Description

β-Rubromycin is a quinone antibiotic agent. β-Rubromycin is found to inhibit reverse HIV-1 RT (transcrisptase from HIV-1) to a greater degree than it inhibits cellular DNA polymerase α. This compound also inhibits TERT (human telomerase), and is cytostatically active against different tumor cell lines.
