Description

3β,21-Dihydroxy-5α-pregnan-20-one is a sterol derivative that is structurally related to other progesterone-type sterols that have been shown to be neuroactive and are thought to regulate various physiological functions. One study showed that some neuroactive steroids can sensitize GABA receptors to its corresponding ligand - gamma-amino butyric acid.
