N-alpha-(9-Fluorenylmethyloxycarbonyl)-N-im-2-chlorotrityl-L-histidine

The Clt (2-chlorotrityl) protecting group is more stable than the commonly used Trt group and is being cleaved with 90%TFA and thiol scavengers in dichloromethane. This property makes His(Clt) derivatives useful in the preparation of protected peptide fragments because the Trt-protection is in several cases not completely stable under the conditions required for the cleavage of protected peptides from 2-chlorotrityl resin.
