Adenosine 3′,5′-cyclic Monophosphate, N6-Benzoyl-, Sodium Salt is a potent cell permeable activator of both type 1 and type 2 PKA, which are cAMP dependent. Studies indicate that Adenosine 3′,5′-cyclic Monophosphate, N6-Benzoyl-, Sodium Salt interacts with PKA by binding to site 2 on the regulatory subunit. As a result of PKA activation Adenosine 3′,5′-cyclic Monophosphate, N6-Benzoyl-, Sodium Salt increases cytosolic calcium ion concentration. In addition, this compound can cross over cell membranes in various cells due to its lipophilic nature. (Note: 10μmol=~4.6mg)
