Description

Actinotetraose is a unique tetrasaccharide with six tiglate esters isolated from an unidentified Amycolatopsis culture. The sugar possesses a two-fold axis of symmetry and is a co-metabolite of quinaldopeptin, a potent antitumor agent. The biological role of the metabolite is unknown.
